Almost every day
We visit a café
In Chinatown.
A good cup of tea
And some of Sally's cakes.
Let good times roll.

Long ago
I was on the run.
The China Run
With the Merchant Navy.
Good days at sea
And in Shanghai
But I digress.

Back in the café
In Chinatown
Sometimes the lass would say,
It sounds like China
Is your homeland.
